Continuous Evaluation

Internal Component of SRTMU Examination scheme will be evaluated on the basis of Continuous internal Evaluation. It consists of the following components. 1. Class Test (CT)

2. Assignments/Tutorials

3. Seminar Presentation

The teachers can use at least two components depending upon the course content. Respective components will be displayed on the department notice board and orally communicated during the class. The weightage for internal evaluation is 20 Marks per subject for Science Faculty and 35 Marks for Arts Faculty. As there are three papers for Mathematics for B.Sc II and III year, there will be 30 Marks for internal evaluation for the subject Mathematics. In addition to theory papers, for practical papers the marks for Record book and viva will treated as a part of CIE.

Rules for Class Test:

1. The purpose of Class Test is to continuously evaluate the performance of students without disrupting the academic classes during the semester. The Internal Examination department will decide whether to schedule a program for internal examination for all subjects simultaneously or not and accordingly will prepare the time table and display on the notice board. In case of time problems the examination department will notice to the respective teachers to conduct the class test during their regular class.

2. Department will announce one week in advance that which subject Class Test will be conducted in the next week.

3. For each subject Two Class Tests will be conducted for each semester.

4. The time for class test will be 30 minutes for 10 Marks.

5. Each Class Test should cover at least one unit.

6. Teachers has freedom to take more than two tests if required as per the difficulty level. While taking extra test they should intimate examination department so that the schedule other tests will not disturbed.

7. Student will not be allowed to appear in Class Test, if his average attendance is less than 75%.

8. If student could not attend the Class Test due to guanine reason, an additional Class Test should be conducted for such a student.

Rules for Assignment/Tutorial Component:

The purpose of Assignment/Tutorial Component is to train the students in attempting analytical, design, Computational and Complex Problems in their end Semester University Exams. Hence they should be able to understand and apply their theoretical knowledge to higher levels of problems. Care should be taken that direct examples which can be copied or attempted by merely replacing figures, from Open Books, are not asked in these Assignments. Attending Faculty can guide the students regarding fundamental applications of theory to problem solution, but students should be able to apply their logical reasoning for problem solution. Thus standard reference books and mentoring by faculty shall be allowed in these Tests.

1. Assignment Component can be conducted during practical/tutorial hours without prior intimation.

2. At least two Assignments each of 10 marks are to be conducted for the each semester and average of two shall be considered for assigning marks out of 10 for Assignment Evaluation.

3. Each assignment should contain minimum 3 problems addressing comprehension, Analysis, Design, numerical computations etc. It should not be of objective/MCQ type.

4. The assignment should be based on topics covered during last two weeks of conducting an assignment.

5. Assignment problems can be common or different for whole class, but it should be conducted in the presence of concern faculty maintaining examination etiquette.

6. If student could not attend the assignments, an additional assignment should be conducted for such student.

7. Faculty has to evaluate and maintain the record of all groups of a class.

8. Assignment problems should address maximum COs of the subject as per NBA requirements.
